WHAT, EXACTLY, IS A PORTUGUESE DECK?

Our new Portuguese Deck design is quickly becoming a client favorite. But what, exactly, is a Portuguese Deck?

Now offered as a design option on both our PC60 and PC68 models, our Portuguese Deck refers to the raised deck area positioned forwardmost at the bow, that is accessible both through the flybridge or from the foredeck. First introduced as a feature of the PC68 when that model was unveiled, this al fresco area provides a third exterior seating, dining, or sunbathing area in an enviable location with unobstructed views.

Adding the Portuguese Deck to the Powercat design allowed for a reconfiguration of the flybridge, which is now an exceptional and multifunctional space accommodating entertainment, dining, and relaxation. Fixed windows are interrupted only by the centerline hydraulic hatch that allows ingress between the Portuguese Deck and the flybridge. (Fixed windows are optional for the side windows and aft section of the flybridge as well.)

On the PC68, the semi-enclosed flybridge features a dual-chair helm station to port with convertible seating to starboard, a dining table to port aft opposite a wraparound settee to starboard, and further aft, a spacious dayhead. Furthest aft, the spacious boat deck remains a flexible space, ideal for catching sunsets with a cocktail or greeting the sunrise with a yoga salutation.

The new Portuguese Deck feature was so popular with our clients that it didn’t take long for the request for the deck to be designed and engineered into our popular PC60 model. Debuted at the 2025 Palm Beach International Boat Show, Kairos is the first PC60 to feature the Portuguese Deck—which was exactly what her owners wanted in their first powercat.

Kairos PC60 Portuguese Deck

Similar in layout to the PC68 flybridge deck design, albeit slightly more compact, the PC60 flybridge offers a helm station to port, convertible seating to starboard, with a dinette aft, opposite a walk-behind bar to port.

And like the PC68, the Portuguese Deck on the PC60 features steps down to the foredeck area, further improving accessibility for the captain to all areas of the boat.

The Portuguese Deck design has proven to be so popular that it has been and is being implemented on all subsequent PC68s and PC60s since these first two debuts. And, as with every Horizon Power Catamaran, customizing the interior style and layout to your liking comes standard.

Some clients have opted for a larger dinette to port with isinglass enclosures aft.

While a smaller dinette, full bar, and enclosed aft area with sliding doors is another design accommodated for this space.
